To run, or not to run
Well, I have bad news. I have sprained my Achilles tendon. I am not to run, so as to hopefully be able to run in the half marathon. I have a foot & ankle doctor's appointment on Friday. So in order to keep calm and remain seated I leave you with:

Catholic Mass
I feel Sunday long distance runs are a lot like Catholic Mass. There are a lot of people out there running, or at least in Tempe, and everyone, that is there to run, says, “Good Morning.”
I ran 4.47 miles this morning. I felt really lethargic but I got myself running by thinking about my upcoming half marathon. I thought about the finish and how good it feels to run now and how good it will feel when I am finishing.
The best moment while running today was when “The Fear You Won’t Fall” by Joshua Radin came on. The song made me realize that I found what I was looking for and I am pretty nervous about it. I was so excited, even with the nervous feeling.

Bookmarked Running Begins
To begin with, I've been running for a few months. I started running, intermittently, 3 years ago. My roommate my sophomore year in college (at ASU) was a runner and started me off, on the correct foot, or at least I would like to think so. My obsession with running; however, began October 2009, three months ago. My best friend informed me that our place of business was paying for the registration fee to do the Race For the Cure 5K run and she suggested we do it together. So we did it. It was so much fun and thousands of our closest running buddies joined us for a great day of running. Then when we found out that work would also pay for the registration fee for the P.F. Chang Rock and Roll Marathon and ½ Marathon, we decided to do the ½ marathon. So after I registered, I started, what I call, really running. I registered to do the Phoenix 10K in November and started what I call, my training for the half. And then I realized I’m hooked on running. I bought a subscription to Runner’s World, a Runner’s Calendar, and daily check the news pertaining to running on Google News.
On January 17th, 2010 my year will really begin with a 13.1 mile run from Phoenix, AZ to Tempe, AZ.
For the year 2010 I plan on participating in the following events:
a couple of 5Ks
a couple of 10Ks
a trail run
a track run
Then January 2011 I plan on participating in the P.F. Chang Rock and Roll Marathon, 26.2 miles of pure accomplishment.
I will post daily updates on my running. Since I began, I’ve found something inspiring in my daily routines. I’ve found inspiration while reading Jane Eyre, checking in on my favorite photo blogs, or even in listening to music. So I plan on making updates on my running and on where I found my inspiration to go running that day. Plan on making a few bookmarks.
Tomorrow, I'm buying spandex.
